Durable goods orders, which increased 3.8% in the advance report, were revised down to 3.7%. The November gain came almost entirely from the nondefense (+73.9%) and defense (+10.5%) aircraft sector.
Excluding transportation, which also includes motor vehicles and ships/boats, durable goods increased an unrevised 0.3% in November.
Nondurable goods orders increased 0.3% in November and nearly offset the 0.3% decline in October.
Orders for nondefense capital goods excluding aircraft fell 1.2%. That was unchanged from the advance report. Shipments, which factor directly into GDP, declined 0.8%.
