Business Inventories Modestly Expand in November
Total business inventories increased 0.3% in November after increasing 0.8% in October. The Briefing.com consensus expected inventories to increase 0.5%.
Inventory growth for both manufacturers (0.5%) and merchant wholesalers (0.1%) was known prior to the release. The only piece of new information was that retailer inventories were up 0.3% in November after increasing 0.2% in October.
Total sales increased 0.3% in November, down from 0.6% growth in October.
The inventory/sales ratio remained at 1.27.
